Role Transition

When major change occurs, leaders are often consumed with the details of the changing structure, of hiring and firing and keeping the focus on the market and the business at the same time.  All too often, time, which is at a premium, is not spent dealing with the effects of the transition on the leaders, individuals and their teams.
Giving people the time and space to connect with what has happened through coaching proves to be vital at the same time as coaching the HR professionals in their support for the transition process. Transition is not just a nice way to say change.  It is the inner process through which people come to terms with a change, as they let go of the way things used to be and reorient themselves to the way that things are now.  To cross over the line into transition, you need to ask yourself what inner explorations you will need to make because of the change. Because of your change, what parts of yourself are now out of date?
